7 Months of Working Alongside Welsh Communities

The last seven months has been intense and immersive with the practice working across Wales on a number of place based projects.

From Towyn and Kinmel Bay in the North to Chepstow in the South East to Haverfordwest in the West, we continue to work alongside communities with plans around local well-being and sustainable growth. More detail to follow over the coming months, but some key highlights include:

  • Development of a Place Plan for Towyn and KInmel Bay in North for Town Council as part of UK Government’s Communities Renewal Fund (watch this space as Plan is published.

  • Helping Chepstow stitch together their neighbourhoods and its town centre with a place making plan for Monmouthshire County Council and Chepstow Town Council.

  • As part of the Rooted In Place partnership of Sensible Ltd, John and Jane and Lee John Phillips we have been working on a community shaped Town Brand for Haverfordwest. Brand and campaign to be launched over the coming months.

  • The preparation of Levelling Up Fund bids for Caldicot and Monmouth which are now submitted to UK Government as part of Monmouthshire County Council’s package approach.

  • The mid term evaluation of the beautifully restored Newport Arcade as a requirement of Heritage Funding and Newport City Council.

  • Supporting Roberts Limbrick with the Maindee District Centre Renewal project focussing on transforming Chepstow Rd from a road into a street and enhancing nearby car parks, public space and more.
